These were wood spirits that took the shape of beautiful women. Every aspect of them was deeply attractive except that they had a hollow back or that on their back was a tree stump. They would seduce lonely travellers deep into the woods. They are known to be generally kind to others but sometimes they are known to be malicious. It is said that they can cause and cure diseases.
