A Hindu Vampire. They are spirits that inhabit a corpse and feed off the living. They are originally spirits that inhabit a corpse and animate it to rise from the grave and to feed on the living. A Vetala is also a Necromancer- someone who practices black magic of the dead. The Vetalas are worshippers of Shiva.
