This is a Taniwha or guardian fairy from the beliefs of the indigenous people of New Zealand. It takes the form of a whale. It was caught by Haumia who was a guardian fairy of a tribe of Maoris. Ureia tried to escape the trap created by Haumia. He put up a great fight but after four huge waves he became weak and died. The death of Ureia upset another tribe of Maori who declared war on Haumia and his people.
