A man named Tarawhata from New Zealand, owned a dog that secretly possessed supernatural powers. While out sailing on his canoe, the dog jumped overboard into the ocean. He kicked and created a huge wave that destroyed the canoe and killed Tarawhata. He then swam to shore and transformed into a giant cliff face where his face can still be seen. It gaze is deadly and petrifying. Once a woman looked directly at it and was instantly turned to stone.
