The Dragon of death in Scandinavian legend. It eats corpses and drinks the blood of the dead. It appears at the final battle of men and gods called Ragnarok. Nidhoggr lives at the bottom of Yggdrasil the celestial world tree that supports the Earth. The Dragon constantly gnaws away at the roots of this tree.
