These are giant ants from the accounts of ancient Greek travellers in their voyage to India. The Indians claimed that they obtain all their gold from the mounds of oversized ants. These ants were said to be larger than a fox but smaller than a dog and looked very similar to an ordinary ant and burrowed underground like any other ant. The Indian tribes would ride on their camels to the mound and swiftly take the gold.
