Giant of Wales
- #1236
Celtic (culture)
Giant (attribute)
Mountain Dweller (attribute)
Troublesome (behaviour)
At one time there was a Giant from Wales who had become enraged by the habitants of Shrewsbury. He was filled with anger and revenge and so it gathered a hue pile of earth to build a dam on the River Severn and thus flood the town. However, not being the brightest of beings he got lost on his way. Eventually he met a cobbler who was returning home. When the Giant asked for directions, the sceptical cobbler asked why he wished to go to Shrewsbury. Foolishly the Giant told the man of his plans. The cobbler said that the town was two days travel away. The weary Giant thus dumped the earth where he stood and gathered another pile to form the Wreakin Hills and the Hill of Ercall.
