A being from the beliefs of the people from the West Indies. They are the deceased who rise from their graves at the invocation of a caller. They are then at the demand of the caller to act out revenge. It is said that the caller should ideally be a relative of the deceased. When the Duppy breathes or touches its target, that person becomes ill and vomits. The Duppy is then rewarded with tobacco or rum placed on its grave.
