These were dogs of the Devil that have fire-eyes and are fire-breathing. They travel over the moors of England on dark and stormy nights and are a sign of imminent death. Some believe that they are the souls of unbaptized children while other believe that they steal the souls of others. Similar to the Whist Hounds, Cu Sith and the Celtic Cwn Annwfn.
