A black Demon dog that accompanies travellers in East Anglia, England. Green and red fire bellowed out of its eyes. Being among a black dog was a dark omen for death and sickness to thetravellers, but the Essex Shuck was a good luck charm as it protected the travellers from enemies. The Black Shuck lived among cemeteries and gallows.
