A Giant who had the power to gain supernatural strength whenever he touched the earth as he was born from it. His father was Poseidon and his mother was Gaia (Mother Nature). He would stop travellers and threatened to kill them if they could not defeat him in a wrestling match. Athena discovered that he only had strength as long as he touched the ground. She told this to Hercules who fought the Giant and strangled the creature in mid air.
