The horn on a Unicorn. The Alicorn and can be straight or twisted and has magical healing properties. The supposed aphrodesiac qualities as well as other apparent medicinal virtues also increased the cost of Unicorn products such as milk, hide, and offal. Rarer still than the unicorn’s horn is the mystic ruby, known as a carbuncle. This gem was said to be found at a horn's base. Some have said that the carbuncle is the source of a unicorn's magical powers, while others state that it is a concentrated essense of the horn.
