A man-eating creature of Mexico. It has the appearance of a dog, with the feet of a monkey and a monkey hand at the end of its tail. It lures fisherman into the lake by spitting out frogs and small fish from the water. When a fisherman gets close the Ahuizotl, the beast grabs the man with its hand on its tail and drags him underwater to be devoured. Later bodies are seen floating on the lake with eyes, teeth and nails missing that are specially liked by the creature. Its name translates as ‘water-opossum’.
