Abac is a fierce water monster from Wales. It once lived in Lake Llyon Llion where it would thrash around causing floods to nearby areas. It terrorised the people in this way until the hero Peredur tied a rope around the beast, and used his oxen to pull the creature from the depths of the lake. The beast was then killed and the local people where safe from floods.
