The 15^th, 16^th and 17^th centuries gave rise to the age of exploration. The Europeans sought new worlds far beyond Europe and discovered many races of people and fabulous beasts of such bizarre description that their true nature of these creatures remains a mystery. Mermaids and weird water beasts were frequently spotted and documented by the new world explorers. The European section also includes 18^th and 19^th century myths with Town Giants, stories of Bogies to scare children and frightening Black Dogs.
